3 Things I learned on my first stock at the Philippines Stock Exchange

There is a very big difference when trading your actual stocks at the stock market such as when you buy and sell your first ever stocks at the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Studying first before diving into the stock market world is very helpful when you decide to dive into it, so I was very careful in choosing the company I will buy, but there's no such exciting thing as the first time.
The first ever stock I bought in the Philippine Stock Market was Cebu Air Inc or what we know as the budget airline Cebu Pacific because currently it's on its lowest price, its ticker symbol is CEB and I bought it at the price of 91.000 pesos and three days later I sold it at 93.5000 pesos.
So here are my insights and some of the things I learned on my first ever buying and selling of my stocks:
  1. As much as possible consolidate your fund, don't buy cumulatively. This is very helpful especially if you are trading less than eight thousand pesos (8,000), Why? Because the broker's commission will always be 20 pesos per buy and sell transaction plus other fees and that's gonna cut your profit extensively if you are more of a trader and not into long-term investing. Read more about why we should maximize the broker's minimum commission here.
  2. Be ready with your calculator.  This was also one of my biggest mistake. Before start selling your stocks, at least we should have our simple spreadsheet ready to be filled-out of the current price of our stocks and it should automatically compute how much will be our net profit if we sell it at that price. Don't be like me selling stocks without knowing how much exactly will I make or will I lose. FYI, after selling, I didn't make something, instead I got -4.52, that's negative!
  3. Patience is virtue. Focus on your target. This is something related to the second. I actually decided to sell my CEB stock so I can buy more stocks of the newly-listed PIZZA, the stock symbol of Shakey's. So I didn't stick to my target, that's one foolishness there. Secondly, Actually, my initial bid was 94.0000 pesos but the 3 hours wait without it getting matched is so long for me because I felt I need to catch the PIZZA price that's getting higher so I lowered it down to 93.5000 and the heck, guess what, after minutes the stock price started to rise and within minutes the order was filled and the price goes to 94. That's foolishness for the second time, I would have profited at least 5.43 pesos if I just waited.
Again, be better than me, let's learn from it. I know you're wiser than me.
