I have always wanted to write some articles about corn farming because there's no such articles talking about it especially in the Philippines.
It's actually a very good short-term investment where you can earn a good amount of profit, in a short period of time.
Aside from your high profit earnings, you are also providing income for the local community with the works your farm is generating such as labors and other works in your farm, just make sure you give them what's due for them.
Based on my personal experience, having a corn farm in Maramag, Bukidnon, your profit is at least 100% of your total investment.
The duration of your investment in corn farming is about 4 months since the corn is harvested when it's like 100 days old or more than 3 months, and counting in the preparation period before planting, that makes the duration about 4 months.
100% profit in 4 months is not bad, just compare it with the highest paying time deposits of banks, such as Security Bank, they only give 3.9% interest rate per year and with a minimum of 100,000 pesos investment. That is only 1.3% interest in 4 months.
As for minimum investment in corn farming? That will depend on your location and situation, if you're located in Bukidnon and already have a land for farming, you will only be spending around 25,000 pesos for an area that can be planted with a bag of 9KG corn seed.
This should already gave you a bit of idea on how to invest in farming especially in corn farming.
Actual corn. We use Pioneer 4124 corn seed which at the time of purchase cost 5,600 pesos per bag of 9 kilograms. |
PS: Was writing this during my work break so it'll be a short article. I'll find time more next time so I can share a bit more so you will also be interested and maybe convinced to also finance a farm of your own. Thanks for dropping by and reading this short article.
